Default Exhaust Issues, need help

Hey guys,

I have a kinda wierd problem I need to fix. I am riding an 03 F4i. I have a high mount 2 Bros Ti exhaust. Love the sound and stuff I have a strange problem. I am 6'4" and I wear a size 13 boot. With that pipe, I burn my boot on the inside of the heal or, if I reposition my foot, the bottom of the heal. I am running vortex rearsets. To help this problem, I added a 1 inch piece of SS exahust pipe to the pipe near the clamp at the header. That didnt move it back far enough, it still burns my boot.

So my question is what I should do to fix it. I was thinking about a 600RR swingarm and running undertail exhaust, its a track bike, I dont have to worry about lights or anything. I am not worried about moding my subframe either.

Or, I have the smog stuff removed down there, I could try to make an under bike muffler, like and R-6 or Gixxer 600.

Anyway, anybody that has an idea for me, let me know. Just wanted some of your thoughts.

Also, what are the handling affects of the swingarm swap?

take it to a muffler shop see and if they can make you a custom midpipe so it will be out of the way and it wont cost much at all

You think about wrapping your exhaust or possible custom carbon fiber guards?

I am leaning towards the 600RR swingarm. If I do this, I will get a custom mid-pipe. As for wrap or guards, we will see. I may be able to adapt guards from another bike. We will see

If they wrap and mid-pipe section don't work, why don't you just get a new exhaust. It's for SURE cheaper than swapping your whole rear end just to keep the same exhaust.

coming from someone that has experience on this topic... i suggest

your stock sub frame would have to be so heavily modified to do a undertail pipe its not worth it... so scrap that

if your positive on running a undertail pipe.. your going to need to do the following things

do the 600rr swing arm conversion

you will need a custom mid pipe because the 600rr and 1000rr mids are to big to fit between the swing arm and the rearset i tried...

get a 1000rr battery box

and custom fab your own sub frame

Ok, I guess I forgot to say this, but the burning boot is actually the minor inconvinence. Becuase of the pipe, I am forced to ride with my right foot at a steeper angle than my left foot. So that just F's everything up.

As for a new pipe, I guess I could, but I like the high pipe look. I know that I am being lame, and it is only looks but I hate having that pipe down there. So that is my egotistical side.

Ok, and as for the subframe, I am not worried. I have a full shop I have access to. The owner of the shop is a GREAT welder, so I am cool with totally modding the subframe. I plan on doing a much slimmer, smaller tail plastic also. As for battery, I am going to bet a really small quad battery that doesnt care about its mounting direction. All it has to do is crank the starter once! ha. This is a track bike, so bump starts are even fine with me. I will def take tons of pics when I do it.
