exact bolts needed...
Hey everyone,
The P.O. that sold me my 2006 F4i just recently gave me the (don't know correct name) fairing piece that goes in between the left and right main side fairings, under and in front of the engine. Engine, pipe guard? I think it keeps debris out of entering the engine area. He said he left it out claiming u don't need it on, but I want to put it on as it makes it look more complete. What bolts/ washers / nuts do I need, how many, and where can I go to get them to fasten this _insert_name_here fairing piece on? Any help greatly appreciated... |
Check out a parts breakdown. I use Bikebandit.com. That will show everything you need, and the part numbers. Then do a search for the cheapest place selling them. Good luck

You need a couple of fairing rivets: http://motorcycleproducts.co.uk/cata...ges/806360.jpg You also need 4 of these M5 rubber well nuts: http://www.hainesmc.co.uk/images/upl...501_002_lg.jpg and 4 M5x16 button head screws http://images.drillspot.com/pimages/185/18545_300.jpg There is no need to buy them from honda, waste of money. Get down a good hardware store and you will find it all easily. |
I can find everything I need at a hardware store / home depot? They seem like specific parts, maybe besides the screws?
|
or go at your dealer .. buy a bunch of bolt and screw.. you will need it someday anyway ..
|
Just go in and ask for the metric bolt section. HomeDepot/Lowes both carry
about the same selection. Another place to check is Ace Hardware (if you have one local). The fairing/panel rivets can be had at most auto parts stores (in the door trim section). Ern |
zipties are your best friend there
