EBay/Chinese tank cover fairing

So I've been looking at the eBay/Chinese fairings that are available, and I think I have a pretty good idea of what can be expected with them (like often hit-or-miss).

What I'm particularly intrigued by are the kits that come with a tank cover. It seems like the ideal scenario for changing up the paint scheme without having to pull apart the tank and get it painted. Too good to be true? Does anyone have any experience with them?

There's a seller on eBay that goes by something like "bliss star express" and they seem to be one if the biggest suppliers, as well as one of the better in terms of quality (relatively-speaking). I was thinking about messaging them to see if they could sell just the tank cover, and how much it would be. Hopefully the language barrier isn't too bad.

I'd like to makeover my orange/black F4 into black with yellow wing F4i scheme (and maybe do something custom on the tail that's 929rr-inspired), so I've been trying to figure out the most practical/feasible way of doing it. Getting one of those tank covers seems like a it would save a lot of trouble, as well as preserve the original paint, which is something else I'd like to accomplish, if possible.

Any experiences or input you guys would like to share (even if you didn't get a tank cover, but got eBay/Chinese fairings) would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

i rode one bike with a tank cover and it felt weird, as you expect a really solid hunk of metal between your knees, but this weirdo hunk of flexible plastic is there instead.

some factory bikes have plastic where the tank usually would be (nc700, etc), but notice those are bikes where you're upright and not knee gripping the tank......

the chinese fairings are pretty good these days, though, they just wont survive a fall

My f4i used to have a Chinese fairing cover on, it fitted really well and felt very solid. But it did make the bike feel alittle fatter
