eBay Cam chain tensioners

example:

Manual Cam Chain Tensioner Honda CBR 600 F4 F4I New | eBay

The MCCT looks like a part that can't get any more simple. But I would rather ask than bend valves. Would an eBay tensioner suffice? Or should I just go with APE and call it a day?

same one i got had it for about 4000 miles no problems

Im sure that would suffice but at the same price as the ape tensioner why not just get that anyway?

An APE is actually cheaper. Unless of course you live in a Blue State that taxes you 10% on your Net purchases.

That is the tensioner I have. It is made by CRU. It works fine. I don't see how the APE would be any better or worse. However, I heard the APE gives you 5 more horsepower because it's red.

its actually more around 7 hp from all the dyno charts ive seen. The one i bought also is reverse threaded so it made my bike about 20 lbs lighter.

The gaskets aren't included with the CCT in this link...

DBEAU: Did your cct come with a gasket?

It was supposed to but didn't. They forgot to put it in the package went they sent it out. I e-mailed them and they sent it out immediately. I got it the next day. Honest mistake.
