Default dual low-beam HID...

i want both my HLs to be low-beam HIDs. I'm going with DDM's HID kit. i searched the forum and may have missed what i am looking for, but can i swap a low beam housing into the high-beam side so i get the correct projection for two low beams?

AFAIK all you have to do is turn the adjuster to point the high beam side all the way down. That is what I plan to do when I install my HID kit later this week.

you need to use a relay and a resistor so that it dims the high beam to the same brightness as the low beam. Then when you hit the high beam switch itll bypass the relay youll still have your highbeam like it is now.

So... the high beam side HID gets more power? I have read nothing anywhere that mentions this. Everything I have found suggests that the only difference is the fact that the high beam side is adjusted to shine futher down the road. I am not saying you are wrong, just wondering if you have a link or something with better info?

He is just saying to dim the hi beam to about 60% wattage so it isnt as bright but still on (You will never get them to look identical this way), that way you can still have use of your hi beam (compared to if you angle it down as you will have no hi beams anymore).
I personally would not do this as your lights are not getting the wattage as they were designed for.
But the hi beam bulb is the exact same as the lo beam bulb, and they receive the same power, just the reflectors inside the housings are different.

The reflector is actually different? Not just at a different angle?

I don't want high beams. Just two hid lows that are on when the bike is running.

If you dont want high beams at all you dont even need the relay then. Just wire a resistor inline with the positive wire going to the high beam, although im not sure what type of resistor youd need.
