Default dropped the bike now the idle is high

ya the other day i dropped it and the throttle cable snapped under the airbox so i took it home and fixed it but now with the idle adjustment all the way out it idles around 5500 cold and about 3200 hot and when i blip the throttle it jumps up just like it always did but now takes a little longer to come down to 3200 where do i go next to bring the idle down? yes the cables are lubed and the butterlflys open and shut fast as ever
thanks

redo the cable tension at the throttle end and at the TB end.

jon,

i mean look at the side of the cable that attaches to the TB side. make sure that the TB is completely closed when the throttle is completely closed. if not, then loosen the throttle cable on either side of the connection, at the TB side or throttle side. don't mess with the idle adjuster because i'm pretty sure it's due to your cable.

make sure the throttle (hand throttle) is completely closed and not pinching, etc.

which side did the bike fall on? i'm assuming right side?

you may also have a lose vacuum line or MAP sensor (left side of air box) going nuts due to the drop. plug and unplug.

sorry mang, so hard to diagnose over the internet.

yes it fell on the right side and no the cables arent pinching but i was wondering how the idle adjuster works? screw clockwise to increase idle or vice versa?? thanks

i can't remember, i think clockwise lowers idle and counter increases it, and if you screw it too much it stops working...and falls 'out'.
