Dripping oil....

Just a quick question...

If I was dripping oil on the left side of the bike near the kick stand...where would I be dripping from?

I did a search, but the one thread wasn't really answered. I am going in to get the CCTL changed out soon and may get them to check it out. It is very dark and oily so I am assuming its oil. I live in a complex and have to park outside and it is frowned upon to do work on anything in the parking lot. So I have to wait till I get to my parents or when it gets in the shop. Any insight would be great.

Thanks.

Did you replace the crush washer last time you changed the oil?

Stator cover maybe.

My guess would be oil drain bolt or its just chain lube coming off the front sprocket,
my bike is black and yellow and I get black chain lube running down the fairing by the
kick stand.

I'll try to check those spots out tonight.

Yes, it is a new crush washer.

It's a very very slow drip. Nothing dripped while in storage over the winter. It must of dripped only between certain rides cuz there is no way I park my bike in the exact same spot every time. There's 2 different spots on the ground about 2" in diameter.

Thanks

It will drip more when the oil gets thinned out when hot because your riding it or the weather.

try cleaning the inside of your front sprocket cover & if the spring for your kickstand has a tube over it, clean it as well (if you have a can of brake cleaner just spray some of it down the tube). after you do that, see if your bike is still marking it's territory...but my guess is it's one of those two locations.

Thanks for the info everyone...

I just checked it out and there isn't any sign of dripping from last nights ride. I think I am just being paranoid. But if I do find anything I will update the thread.
