Just so you guys know. Replacing it with another stock one doesn't always fix the noise. You need flair the pin. Do a search
I havn't done it to mine though, I just deal with the noise.

i think i heard mine yesterday

it sounds like chattering down by the engine, is that the CCTL?

couple questions:

1. is it dangerous to ride with it if it sounds like that?
2. how hard is it to install the new one? is there a DIY anywhere?

thanks

i was told that it wasnt important to get that changed just that it will annoy you and it wont hurt anything on the bike. is that true or is it imprtant to get that changed.

after doing some research (sorry for not doing it sooner[]) the consensus seems to be that it wont cause any physical damage, just mental from having to listen to that sound!

question you are talking about your Cam Chain Tensioner lifter....and if so, how can you tell it's going bad. Reason why I am asking is that I may be buying an 03 F4i this weekend w/ 8k miles and wonder if I should try to "listen" to see if it's going bad?
An '03 with only 8k? That's criminal. Smack the PO.
