Draining Fuel Tank- Where's the Reserve?

I finally got clever and used a parts grabber tool to hold the silicone fuel transfer hose at the bottom of the tank. Otherwise it would curl back upon itself and start sucking air and I'd have to start the transfer all over again.

Not satisfied I got it all out, I ran the bike. I ran like crap toward the end. I noticed that the reserve bars didn't come or for quite awhile...in fact around the time the bike quit running which is odd considering that the bike reliably gets 120 miles before the reserve comes on.

Any thoughts on this?

Takes time for the system to react, kinda like how it takes a bit before the reserve goes away after filling up.

I drained the fuel first, start bike, bike begins to stutter and you think it's a reaction time issue? Hmmmmm....maybe something in the software?

Totally, completely empty is a resistance value that doesn't register very well is my guess, or the sensor is not doing so well anymore. I've never felt great about my reserve gauges accuracy to be honest.
