drain tube by kickstand

What's up guys. New to the forum. Own a 02 f4i. Took it apart the other day and the 1/2 inch drain tube fell off. This is the bigger one of the three there. Where does it connect to?

ones coolant overflow, ones a fuel tank vent, ones a fuel overflow. check which one you dont have

edit: fuel overflow i think

Mine hung way down past the fairings...so I cut mine off flush. Looks a ton better even though I know this has nothing to do with the original post. lol

Ive only got 2 hoses coming down, one about 1/2" dia the other about 3/8", should I worry? Its on an 01'.

i've been missing the smallest one (fuel vent hose) since i've owned the bike, no issues. The other two are actually important to have.

Now ya went and did it Sick.... Now I won;t be able to sleep until I get the hose ;) Im pretty carefull filling up but once in a while ya get a "burpy" hose so Im off to do some research :)

Sick97SS 10-08-2010 03:12 PM

Haha by important I mean that if you accidentally overfill the tank, the drain hole will pour the overflow fuel directly onto the back of your hot engine if your missing the hose. (a bad thing)

And its funny this thread came up because i just filled up today and the bike reeked of gas when i hopped off going into work, i didnt spill a drop nor did i see any under spots under the bike. It has always done this after a fillup. I guess the missing "vent hose" is somewhat important too,....:icon_shrug:

so i narrowed it down to fuel. i have to take the tank off soon anyways because of paint so ill be able to fix it then.
