Does the fuel pump always run, or does it cycle?

When the engine is running, is the fuel pump constantly running? Or at least, is it constantly receiving its 12v power?

I've read from many difference sources, and I'm under the impression that while the engine is running, the fuel pump never shuts off, just constantly runs. But I'l also read some people say it cycles on and off... I want to know FOR SURE, WITHOUT A DOUBT, not a guesstimate, not a 99% think so guesstimate.

Follow up question, if it does in fact cycle on and off, Is the fuel pump itself deciding when to run and not run, or is it the ecu cutting power to it when it decides to?

Not important part, but reason I'm wondering. I made a custom wire harness for my f4i. Eliminated the majority of everything the bike doesn't physically need to run. I currently have it wired to run the fuel pump constantly, but it's not too late to still allow the ecu to control the fuel pump. I'd rather keep it how it is, on all the time, I just don't want to have the fuel pump go or the fuel pressure regulator go out fast.

It runs constantly when the bike is running.

All fuel pumps for every engine made are constant run pumps.
