Default Do I need a PC III

Getting a 2 bros M2 slip on for my 02 F4i and was wondering if I should get a Power Commander?

To get the absolute best performance out of it yes but to be honest I wouldn't. It won't hurt anythng by not having it on there and on the street your not going to notice any very slight gain in power it might give you. I would save the money or put it towards another mod.

Thanks for the info R Dub. I'd rather do something else if it isn't a need.

while you will not gain more power with a PC, you will have better throttle responce and a smoother power curve and fuel delivery. When I bought my bike way back when, it had the 2 bros pipe and did fine, but had "dead spots" in the throttle. once I put the PC on it instantly made everytihng smoother. I would say a PC is well worth it, but to each their own.

I just put on a 2bros pipe and now I have a pretty bad dead spot starting around 4k and ending around 7k at which point youre right back to full power. So I am considering the PCIII.

Is it just a canned tune or does it need to be matched to your bike etc?

I just got one on ebay for $140.

I have a shorty yoshi and K&N filter,
So, I used the map from their website for the Two Bros Racing pipe and K&N filter. (my thought was to get the map for a high flow pipe)

Any power differences are minimal if anything but the throttle is super smooth..fixed that 1/4 sec bog I had when i blipped the throttle off idle.

Thats good to know. I have the exact same setup. I actually followed your write-up on the shorty. I was going to get a custom tune, but if this works that well, I may not.
