Well the title says it. All my friends have been riding for quite a while (busting wheelies like they're nothing), and I decided to try it yesterday. Got to say, it was fun but very scary. Tried it again, got up, and then I woke up and realized that I have only been riding for 4 months. I won't be doing it again anytime soon. Just thought I would share, and ask what others expereinced when doing thier first wheelie.

I'm serious. At first I was like "yeah, that was awesome." But then I mentally smacked myself in the face, and realized that I just did a really F'ing stupid thing.

 

I want to do wheelies! I've only been riding since April and from day one I've been itching to try one but I'm too scared of trashing an $8500 bike because I have NO money to fix it.

I may have seen you...well I live in WI and there was a guy trying to wheelie....he got as far as WHEEEEEEE and then REALITY....learn on a fiddy...at least the balance wont be as bad and there industructable...somewhat

 

I used to wheelie all day long on BMX bikes back in the day. Then on Mountain bikes, basically any kind of bike. But never tried on the CBR for exactly what snowboarding82 said. Too afraid to F it up and have to pay to fix it!

 

Yeah, I was "in the zone (whatever that means)," and did not think of th econsequences until after I did it (twice. I know. I'm a slow learner). I watched a video of a guy doing a wheelie and having the bike flip over and land on him (not sure of what this is called). That is when I realized how stupid it was, and how lucky I was for not having anything happen.

 

I just started riding yesterday and I'm going to trade my sissy 600 in for a 1000 (I've already outgrown it) and start doing some sick wheelies

 

im not sure i understood that. u said u just started ridin yesterday and want a 1000. just so u know the 1000rr i have comes up in first, second, and third sometimes even when u dont want it too. i dont think its a good idea for a new rider to have a bike that tries to wheelie at 120 just off power. if u do get one be very nice to it for a while and good luck. just my thoughts. no offense
