custom stock pipe

Hey guys
This past weekend I decided to take the ugly stock pipe off my 2001 f4i and section a large piece out of the middle to make a little shorty stubby pipe. In my pictures I've got a few shots of the before and after and a couple during. Also of the inside of the sectioned piece (which was a bit of a shocker). The process was pretty cut and dry, but pretty proud of the tig welding and overall finished product. Let me know if you like it or have questions. Thanks guys! |
Nice job. How's it sound?

Looks good bud. I noticed not a huge diff in my stocker and my Yoshi. I mean its there but not huge. I am guessing it sounds better but not terribly loud?
|
Yea it actually sounds a little deeper and has a great tone. Its def not a ton louder and didnt improve much performance like a nice yosh or two bros pipe (which is in the future) but I figured I was pretty crafty and I think it looks a million times better than the huge stock pipe. And when you polish her up it almost looks like an aftermarket pipe ;) thanks for all the nice compliments yall

Yea your for sure right its not anything but a sound change and my pipe is still a stock pipe no matter which way you slice it haha just thought it looked better and was on the cheap :)

The pipe looks awesome, and makes as much extra power as any aftermarket slip on would, meaning there is no point in an aftermarket pipe for you anymore. Its a good thing, not something that needs explaining lol

Thanks partner

Im really wanting to do this to mine! Did it change anything as far as needing re jetting? Or anything like that?

Runs like a champ but I'm about 5000ft above sea level so it would probably love some attention anyways. Glad you like it
