Well i thought i would share and inspire people so here it is. Seen the how to on another form. 4 layers of fiber glass and final layer of body filler. Primed waiting for paint. its pretty tight just sitting on there but i want to make some sort of way to attach it to the seat. Any ideas?

buuuuut it will be yellow so it will blend in with the tail haha. I was going to put a hump in it like the gsxr cowls but decided not to.

A hump would be cool that was my only thing w/ the targa one I had on my old f4... I wish it had a hump... too flat for me

Personally, Targa is the way to go, just pricey.

But I really like what you did with the fiberglass. What kind of lens did you take that picture with?

Looks real good man, heck of a job. Any way you could attach it if you took the seat off, and some how ran bailing wire (or something ??) under the seat from one side to the other ?

hey man ... this is exactly what I am looking to do. Nice job!

How did it turn out? I see the original post is from 2008.

Can you please forward the How To thread that you spoke about from the other forum?

Thanks!

turned out far better than i ever expected beings that this is the very first time i have ever did any fiberglassing. I dont know what you mean when you said the original post was from 2008? i just posted this up, you may have been looking at my "join date"
But anyhow just go to google and type in this exact phrase: "how to make a fiberglass seat cowl" And you will get the first page from cbrworld.net. click the "cached" button next to the link because this is the only way it worked for me. Also check out the other links in the search results. any questions feel free to ask.

djmnyc May 25, 2010 01:37 PM

oh right! sorry about that. yeah, I quickly looked at your join date by mistake.

I saw those links, but I guess the site is down. I didn't know about the cached option. thanks! I'll read it through now, and will give it a shot if I have the materials and tools necessary.

psyched to see your final pics. btw, how do you plan to match the paint? some guys in another thread already gave me some great ideas on this before, but I figured I'd ask you as well. I can't wait to see how it looks when you're done.
