Default crap another problem...

i swear i have the worst luck

bike starts up and runs amazingly for about 10 seconds and then shuts off, electrical and everything instantly shuts off
it cranks up again perfectly and cuts off again, never has a problem cranking or holding idle it just dies after about 10-15 seconds

battery is good and I'll be checking the Reg/Rect tonight any other ideas???

You said my first guess, but usually with the Regulator or rectifier problem, the bike has to warm up a lot before it dies.

Just a shot in the dark, how about the Engine stop relay? Maybe the relay is going bad?

I'm thinking and looking through your shop manual.

Another is the Kickstand kill, are you sitting on it when you start it.

thanks don, didn't think about the stop relay, I'm gonna check that now
I've pretty much decided it can't be the stator or reg/rec because the battery isn't going dead its just like you turn the key off and back on

its not the kickstand, BAS, or clutch switches those shut off the fuel pump not the entire electrical system

Stop relay wouldn't kill all elecrical. I'd look at the key ignition.

Did you check to see if your battery connections are good, it also sounds like a prob a friend of mine had. Viubration after start was just enough to kill it.

If the master switch doesn't do it, I'd take a multimeter to the fusebox and check the harnesses. It's obviously a main bus.
