Couple questions from a soon to be f4i owner
Hey guys im looking to pick up an f4i in the near future, i was wondering what would be considered excessive miles on a bike, a number that would make you think twice? also what are some things to look for on an f4i when you go to check it out? anything that can be a problem with them? thanksguys

also is the difference between the split seat and the banana only cosmetic, or is the riding position different?
|
The only time I would think about miles is if I found out maintance was neglected.
|
Agreed. My F4i had about 30k mi when I bought her, and she runs like a champ. One member here has 200k+ mi on his bike and it's still running well.
F4i's are huge for stunting apparently, so make sure it's treated well and not banged up. Other than that, you should be good. |

I dont look at miles on these bikes any different than i would look at miles on a car. Like squirrel said its all about maintenance. Id take a well maintained 30k mile bike over a beat up 15k mile bike. If a bikes been a track bike its obviously been abused and ridden at the limit more but its probably also been immaculately cared for(usually). theres no difference between the split seat (01-03) and bananas (04-06) mechanically really. Just the subframe and seat/tail fairing obviously. the bananas just more comfy probably and was made to differentiate it from the 600rr when that came out in 03.

Less aggressive then an rr but still sporty. Best of both worlds.

Banana seat is (slightly) less aggressive than split seat, which is less aggressive than a 600RR.
