Coolant question
Hey everybody, I'm a new guy. While I do not have a bike, I plan on owning one in the next year or two. In the meantime though, I am on a club at school that designs and builds a racing go-kart every year. For a few years now we have used a 2002 CBR F4i engine and my task this year is to design the cooling system. I was wondering if anybody knows how much coolant the engine and radiator each contain? In the manual it says the total volume is 2.7 liters (plus .31 L for overflow), but what are the radiator and engine volumes' separately? Thanks in advance. Here's a link to our website for those of you that want to check out what we do.

RE: Coolant question
I doubt anyone is going to have an answer for that. Doubt its listed in themanual I have which is a few miles away with my bike. You are probably going to have to test their individual capacities yourself. Given your school and apparent field of study I know I dont need to bother telling you how to do that. Post some vids of the finished product when you are done.

RE: Coolant question
Thanks, just wondering if anyone might know to save me fromhaving to actually do this...i need to know becausefrom the looks of ourcurrent radiator, its a lot bigger thanone foundon a bike...im trying to figure out how much i might be able to downsize the radiator to cut back on weight. but thats the thing, it onle looks like it. i dont actually know the volume.we custom order our radiator to fitwith our car and i have toplace the ordersoon.
also, i just do this for fun.i suck at math, but i have a pretty good foundation in physics.im planning on a bio major. at home i work on cars and just recently bikes so this just takes some of the stress out of college.
