coolant
Do I need a specific cooland for my 03 F4i or is coolant - coolant and automotive coolant is alright - 50/50 coolant/water mixture
should be ok - right |
RE: coolant
yea, coolant is coolant
|
RE: coolant
engine ice or water wetter will make your bike run cooler though
|
RE: coolant
Regular coolant (meaning automative) can destroy the water pump on the F4is (or any other bike for all I know). I would stick with motorcycle coolant, engine ice or water wetter and you should be fine.

RE: coolant
+1 to engine ice :D
|
RE: coolant
Coolant is coolant as long as it's made for aluminum blocks. Automotive will destroy your bike engine only if it's not made for an aluminum block. That's according to the manual anyways.

RE: coolant
psssss....
you can use auto coolant without any silicates...safe on your pump's seals/bearings. |
RE: coolant
I thought the bike specific coolant wasnt slick like the auto stuff?
|
RE: coolant
+1 on the water wetter not kidding keeps ur engine 20 degrees cooler, i love it and need to change mine again when i do my oil
|
RE: coolant
That's oil. The bike specific oil is designed for the clutch. Some people use car oil too and claim that it does not have any issues. If you get the wrong kind though, your clutch will start to slip. That's what I have heard, but I don't actually have facts to back that up.
