Default Code 10

Hey everyone! So I recently purchased a 2001 F4I 600 and the FI light has been giving one long blink every couple of seconds which I think is a code 10. Then the other day it started running rough. the idle keeps jumping around and it cuts out sometimes. So I pulled the tank to take a look at everything and noticed that the MAP sensor was gone and the hose that I think goes to it was plugged into a piece on the bottom of the airbox that is solid. So I ordered a MAP sensor and hooked it up and BAM! Nothing changed. The FI light is still blinking, and it's still running the same. So I was hoping maybe someone on here could help

I'd suggest having a look online to see if you can get a workshop manual for your bike. The codes are usually in there somewhere.

I don't own an F4 myself so can't help on the specific error, but a workshop manual should be able to point you in the right direction.

Other thing you could try is disconnect the battery completely. This forces a hard rest on the ECU (Turn it off, turn it back on). It may be the ECU hasn't 'noticed' the new sensor and so still reports an error.

i don't think your bike actually has a code 10.

code 1 is map sensor electrical fault, and that'd be short blink (half second or so)..

code 1 would really mean 'map sensor not plugged in or toasted',

code 2 is more 'map sensor plugged in but no (or wrong) hose hooked up'

that said, are you sure you got the right hose? the f4i has some insane intake hoses. lets see some pictures.

Definitely post a little video of the flash, and I'll look at my manual and help. And rfesu is correct, the hoses can be deceiving.

I'm not sure I have the right hose, I'll pull the tank and post some pictures soon. Thanks
