if done correctly it won't hurt your tranny

i prefer the dynojet quick shift kit though, don't even have to let off the throttle

It is worse for the tranny because no matter how good you are at rev matching you will inevitably grind a bit every so often. There is also a lot more stress put on the shift fork. Most bikes require the cases to be split to get to those goodies so not a fun day. This is not to say the occasional upshift without the clutch will ruin your bike ... but it is harder on the tranny than using the clutch for all shifts.

What some fail to realize is that pros being paid to race have crews that magically replace all the parts they abuse during a weekend jaunt on a closed course. If you're out running a bullet on the street and every 1/10th sec counts then do what ya gotta

If it was a "good" idea to not use the clutch...Don't ya think the engineers would have elminated the clutch altogether. Just think of all the money they'd save, and all the money they'd make...replacing trannies.

I do it, just like uniqsol said. Only when you're cruising, and going one handed, and the laziness kicks in. I only do it otherwise @ high rpm's cause the lurches are killing me.

I usually upshift clutchless all the time.
For me its always a smoother shift than when using the clutch
