Clutch Cable Routing

My clutch cable goes between the steering neck of the frame and the right fork tube, so it gets an extra bend when I turn full lock to the right making it engage at a different place as well as making it harder to pull. Also it can be annoying since it blocks the trip meter on my dash.

Anyone else experience a similar issue? I don't know if this is the normal clutch cable routing or not.

Check your adjustment down at the case and the fine tune up on the handle. Sounds like you have it the way it should be. I have it the way its shown here and never had an issue. Do you have it tied to the frame as noted? Perhaps you have a kink in the actual cable somewhere. But personally its a non issue for me, otherwise yes it sorta comes up in front of the dash a bit, pretty standard. It kinda tucks under the ignition. Check and see if its binding up on something? Disconnect from clutch lever and see if you can slide it easily within the cable housing. Should move freely. Turn wheel, try again. Otherwise its just how they are. Try to loosely get a ziptie up top somewhere to hold it out of your way, otherwise just kinda how it is.

In that pic it looks like it goes on the outside of the fork tube. I'll have to try that.

Yes I've tested the cable disconnected and it moves fine, and it is tied to the frame as pictured.

Hear you. Does look conflicting, especially in the next picture. But It looks like they are showing that it goes under the Ram air in that first pic. Stupid illus kinda. *shrugs*
