clutch basket

Today me and a few buddies decided to goto texas motor speedway as that is a nice area to stunt on sportbikes without having any issues with cops as it's on private property.

On the way there we were playing around and I pulled up second gear wheelie. After setting it back down I noticed a pop and then a chatter noise... then shortly after awhile my friend got a wasp in his helmet... so we both pulled over. I inspected my bike and could hear my chatter near my clutch... then my bike just turned off. Got it towed back home and tore it apart...

My bikes outer clutch housing is in peices.. literally exploded from the force and there is metal shavings all inside my bike... and being that the clutch is actually part of the engine and share the same oil metal shavings are possibly inside my engine Sad

Did some checking and the base cost for the outer clutch basket is 200 dollars... so yea today is a sad day

Question for any of you guys.. do you know where I can get the outer clutch basket for cheaper ? or maybe a used one ?

so any thoughts on HOW this even happened? I cannot find anyone ever breaking the outer clutch case before.. I've heard of clutch disc shattering... seizing but never the outer case shattering in a spot like that...

bike was around 200ish degrees due to texas heat... was lightly playing on it before it happened. it's the EBC Friction disc that I put in... so could it be the clutch was to strong? heat? or possibly just lemon part?

Bike has only had 25k miles on it so far and i've kept the oil changes and everything up to date if not earlier than needed.

Also with it having shavings now inside my oil... any precautions you guys think I need to take before swapping a new outer casing in? I'm assuming flush oil change filter... and such.. Sadly a magnet won't work because the metal shavings are aluminum and sadly do not attract to a magnet :(

You should be glad its aluminum, its softer than cast iron and therefore wont be eating bearings, cylinder walls, cam lobes, ect
