Clicking during hard stop
I was practicing hard stops and with the clutch in and stopping pretty quickly I would hear a clicking sound. I did a few with only the rear break to experience the feeling of a real tire locking up and I skidded for maybe 5 feet and heard the clicking again.
For a moment I wanted to think that my bike had ABS and I did not know it but no front break and the rear was sliding so it clearly was something else. Anyone know what this is and if it is normal or a sign I might have a problem. I do not hear it during normal stopping only during panic stops. |
Probably your kickstand bouncing

needs new pads?

my bike does the same thing don't really know what it is but I assumed it was normal

mine does it too. don't know why, but if you put the bike in neutral and lock up the rear it won't make that noise.
|
mine does it as well... scared the crap out of me the first time
|
???
Had it happen a few times too when I've locked up the rear under heavy braking. Initially I thought it was wheel hop, but now I'm thinking it has to do with the slipper clutch.

if its happening when ur down shifting to help slow down and ur going into first gear at like a million its prob the clutch trying to catch. if ur just braking i dont know

I know that on full-floating discs, the sound of the disc moving on the carrier can create a clicking knoise while braking but usually only one click, not a continuing click-click-click, unless your letting on and off the brake. This would only apply to your front rotors as the rear is a solid mount to the rim. |
Mine does it as well, i just figured it was ABS brakes??
