cleaning up fairing scrapes

It's not a huge deal to me, but the previous owner but the bike down on both sides, and without sliders, it scraped 'em up pretty good. I have the red/black '02 color scheme, so I have both black and red decals that are scraped up. Has anyone tried to clean scrapes up? how about where the decal got torn?

I'm trying to find some pictures of it...

best bet is new fairings. or put stickers over it but you really wont get it back to what it was. sorry to hear its on both sides.

yeah, its really not worth me putting new fairings on. I was just hoping someone may have had experience with some sort of plastic filler or some type of pen that could fill them in a bit...

Post pics, the base color is gloss black w/ clear coat and the rest of it is decals I think.

my plastics were scraped up pretty good, both over the graphics and not. i took the graphics off and wet sanded it. now they are just as smooth as coming off the lot. only thing is, you'll have to repaint it. but it was pretty easy if you ask me

http://www.replicals.com/index.php?cPath=21_30 Just take the decal off sand and repaint gloss black with a rattle can as black i easy to blend and then you can buy any decals you need for your fairings that are scratched and replace them.

New decals looks like it would take care of the right side of the bike and some touch up paint, wet sanding, and buffing on the headlight area. For the left side you may just want to pull all the decals and repaint it w/ gloss black, since it's scratched in a quite a few places. You can blend it if you think your capable, instead of repainting that whole piece. There is a touch up primer/filler that would help build up the areas that were eaten away.

i bought some vinyl from a mall here in AZ. paid $20 for a 2'X2' piece. i covered them up. the color code they have is pretty dang close to the red and black.
