chain and tail light question

chain and tail light question
how many links are in the standard 525 chain?
Also i have a wiring problem because the lights that are always supposed to be on in the rear tail light always go out when I replace the bulb but when i hit the brake the lights come on just no running lights. Anybody ever have this problem? Thsnks guys and gals
