Chain size/type

Hey guys,

It's time for me to replace my chain on my '01 f4i and I've run into a wall and I'm hoping you can help me out.

What brand, size and type chain do you all recommend?

Thanks,
Jeff

D.I.D. 525
Its what Honda put on it and works well enough. But any name brand should be fine.

I recommend the search button.

You should know that it is recommended to replace the sprockets as well. Worn sprockets will accelerate wear on a new chain.

Yea, replace the sprockets with the new chain. I went with a BikeMaster 525 Xring chain. For stock gearing you'll want 108 link chain

If you are interested in weight savings and rotational mass, aluminum sprockets and a 520 chain. If you are like me and want a $200 investment last. You want steel sprockets and 525 chain. A thicker heavier chain will last longer. Just a suggestion, go down 1 tooth in the front. It will give you a noticeable difference in acceleration without killing your top end.

Did a search, found nothing and decided to bring back an old thread.

If my sprocket setup is 15/46 then what chain length do I use?
