Chain question

Well my chain and sprockets are still good but they're red and aren't going to match my build. I want something nuetral or something that will match my white/gray color scheme. I'm going to have blue accent lighting so i MAY use blue but probably not. Also would like to keep stock gearing. Show me what you guys know about custom sprockets!

How are sprockets colored? Could they be powdercoated?

cman9toes 10-26-2010 06:39 PM

Painted, powder coated, anodized... any of the above. I would say powder coat, but the teeth should prob be kept free and clean of powder

also, if I sell the set I have on it as a used set in good condition what would you guys say it's worth?

Hmm. I think a white sprocket with a black rear wheel would look pretty sick. Maybe I should dip the teeth in plasti dip or something before I get them coated? Anyone else have any experiance with this?

Anyone?

How does that stuff work and where do you get it?

Not to thread jack but I was thinking of maybe getting my wheels redone with a polished lip. Having a sprocket done too might not be a bad idea either while I'm at it.

If you are going to powder coat, then the shop should be able to use a release agent on the sprocket to protect the teeth.

vortex makes sprockets in a bunch of colors. these are all 520s

and i feel like anodizing would be your best bet for a sprocket. only adds 1-3 thousandths of an inch i believe
