Screws, bolts, exhaust springs? clamps? keys? loose chain?

Metal piece bouncing around? sounds like someone threw a penny down your exhaust.
Yeah I'll be riding around fairing-less as of this week, to try and work out where that metal rattling is coming from ... I do suspect like you, have a coin could have previously been dropped into the fuel tank!

With my valve clearances finally checked and the CCTL changed, this rattle and the stupid ever-glowing FI Light (problem that does not affect function) are the final jigsaw pieces in the bike being almost everything I want it to be ....

I'm not sure if my CCTL is going. I notice a sound between 6000rpms-6300rpms. I notice it only when either I'm riding in that RPMS or Just letting off the throttle in that range. It's pretty loud. Kinda sounds like a belt squealing or almost like a paper ripping. I'm not sure where it's coming from or even if it's the CCTL. My bike only has 3300 miles on it. So I really don't know what it is.

Any ideas?

So my bike sounds like it has skittles bouncing around in a Glad Tupperware container.
Not really ha. I enjoyed reading the different ways you guys described the sound though.
I actually just rolled over 17,000 miles on the odo with no issues. Im guessing the previous owner changed it or the fact that my speedo is off 5mph so my mileage is alot less.

so i have a sound that sounds like theres a penny rattling around in my exhaust. It can happen all the time ie. idle or riding, but does go away sometimes. Is that the chain tensioner?

Question on installing the factory CCTL...

I am asuming the OEM CCTL comes in with the "key" installed, pulling the tensioner back. Is that corret? If so, how do I remove the "key", once the CCTL is installed?

Does anybody know when they started making the 14520-MBW-J24 CCTL? It appears Honda has replaced the CCTL with many revised versions and I'm wondering when this most recent iteration was produced. I think I'm going to replace it again.

I had this same same issue. I replaced the CCT with the honda replacement one, the sound is still there. Anybody know what this is?
