Cbr600 f4i vs cbr600rr
 

Hey guys I currently own a nice 1998 CBR600F and love it to bits but it is starting to look dated in my eyes, and I am thinking about updating and love the look of the F4I and not to fussed on the look of the RR of the same age. But I want to know what is the better bike for handling and performance etc, I know the RR has more power but is it really noticable on the road etc.
Really interested in everyones thoughts.

F4i all the way...

I would say they both have their strong points. I have driven both of them and prefer the F4i. The F4i has a little less power in stock form however if you add few goodies you can get it to work almost as good as a 600rr..I find the f4i way more easy to drive and way more confortable. The ridding position is way more user friendly and good for long drives..the 600rr on the other hand is not as confortable and has a more aggressive stand therefore harder on the arms and hands in a long drive. I have the f4i and have raced quite a few RR's and the only one that ever beat me was a 07 and up. A newer 600RR with some goodies on it would be the most powerfull but not as confortable... I have a PCIIIusb, air filter and full pipe and my buddy and I traded yesterday. He has a 05 600RR and it did not pull as hard as my F4i. Good luck and hope you find your new bike...:)

Newer 600RRs (05+) have better suspension and performance.

F4i has more comfortable ride. Still very capable, though.

Go with whichever suits your wants/need more.

Go with whatever bike fits you better.
I rode my friends '06RR and it felt faster and the whole bike felt abit tighter ie. suspension.
Ergonomics wise.....too tight a fit for me and I'm only 5'10". Too cramped and too much weight on the wrists.
I was ready to get off it after 20 minutes of riding...The F4i is just more comfortable for me :)
Sit on them both and see how they feel to you.

I hoped onto a RR and your right they are cramped, i'm only 5'11 and i could not ride for a distance i don't think.

I do many miles a day, and I just have to shake out my arms maybe once when I get where I'm going. On a friends RR I told him I didn't want to ride it after just sitting on it and feeling the position.

Maybe in the distant furture I might consider getting an 06 cbr 1000 how do these compare comfort wise and performance wise to our F4i ?

besides things like suspension and design, the big difference and pretty much only diff, which gives the RR more power, only 7 ponies is the fuel injection. RR has dual stage fuel injection. but im a huge f4i fan, i ride my bros zx7r from time to time and another buddies 98 gsxr, makes my bike feel that much quicker, agile, more nimble and alot less klunky

I prefer the CBR600F series due to its street-oriented focus. I commute a lot and like to get away on my bike for road trips. The F4i suits this MUCH MUCH more then a RR.

I had an F4 for a couple years and I could ride 1000km/day no problem.
