Calipers For 2001 F4i

Hi

I was looking at changing my calipers to the 03 600RR ones just for some gold bling. After reading on here i see 929/954 Blade calipers also fit. They look the same but are the brakes from the blade any different in any way or did they just put them on the 03 RR? I had read on here that the blade brakes were better due to some different internals so wondering if they are what the used on the 03 RR?

Thanks
GT

they are the same, i dont think they are really any better, prolly not any better to make a huge braking difference, cheapest route wuold be to paint your f4i calipers

one other thing, they could be slightly different, like the rear on the rr is a mirror image of the f4i's the banjo bolt goes on the opposite side and stuff like that-so your brake lines would run into issues

929 entire front end conversion FTW!

OK

Thanks guys, prob try and get some 03/04 calipers as i cant be bothered painting them (lazy i know) and will look better than if i do em. Just picked up a rear 04 rr one on the bay for £14 with master cylinder so cheap as chips. My rear is pretty goosed anyway. Will the rr front MC fit and be any improvement??

Cheers

it will fit but is the exact same thing pretty much. get a radial one if u want improvement, but it will more just be feel than braking power

and make sure u stay with those years bc the newer ones are radial and the radial calipers will not fit, but the radial master cylinder would be fine

errr i was thinking tokyo calipers. i got all excited...

Thanks for the advice guys. Can you tell me what size the F4i and 600RR MC's are? Also if i want the lever to have a firmer feel do you need smaller piston with longer stroke? Slightly confused about master cylinders.

get ss lines and a radial mc and bleed it really good, itll be nice and firm
