Default To buy or not to buy??

I have never owned an F4i, but want one to commute back and forth to school. I am 6'6" and hope it wouldn't be too small for me. I have owned a Katana 600, 2 GSXR 600's, an RC-51, but never a CBR. I wanted to know if you guys think this is a good or bad deal. It's a 2002 F4i, original owner, all paperwork, 1200 mi., all stock. It has been down on the left side once, not too bad, but definetely noticeable. Price is $4000. Also, if I do buy it, does anyone have a full aftermarket exhaust and usb power commander for sale?

Thanks,
Steve

If you've owned other sport bikes, then I think you'll be fine. Why don't you find one to go sit on and see how it feels. The riding position doesn't really feel like a sportbike IMO. I also have a GSXR and it's completely different. But that's good for a commuter. I think the conservative positioning would be better for someone tall like you to be comfortable on. The seat is pretty hard, but if you got an aftermarket one it could be really comfy and probably add a bit to the seat height, since it's quite low overall.

The price sounds pretty good if it's been taken care of properly.

Did you not like your RC 51, my friend who is about your size got that bike for that very reason. Seemed it fit him well.

That seems like a good deal. Definately take it for a test ride, make sure frame isnt bent from crash, etc. Only 1200 miles huh? Thats pretty decent.

Hey guys, thanks for the input. I thought the RC-51 was a great bike, it fit me well also, but in the end I didn't really care for the v-twin (prefer inline-4) and it had too much torque for in town riding/commuting, especially first gear. I would hope the f4i would get decent gas mileage. Also, what's the best full exhaust system for the bike? I found an Akrapovic for a good price.

A Busa would be awesome, but then I'm looking at twice the cost of what this bike is.

Also, as far as gearing goes, what would be the best combination for optimum gas mileage (to keep the rpm's down on the freeway) - stock, down in the back, etc...?
