Brembo caliper ID please

Hi guys. I scored these on ebay recently for a project, and they were advertised as coming off a "2002 CVR600 FRI". I suspect a typo or two in the title, hence the bargain-basement price :icon_wink:

Attachment 52563

I have soda blasted one of them in this pic. I'm now looking for a set of pads for them, and I need to know the correct model designation? Out of ignorance I bought a set I thought may fit:

LTR-BRAKE-PADS-FRONT-HONDA-CBR-600-FR-ROSSI-2002-

but the pin spacing is a little off (too wide by about half a pin).

Can someone offer me advice as to what I should be looking for please?

Much appreciated.

cheers
ian

Have you still got the pads ? If so can you post a picture ?

They look like 2004+ calipers

Can you explain Soda Blasting ??

Soda blasting is like sand blasting but instead of sand I believe baking soda is used. It's a mild abrassive unlike sand. Sand would have taken it down to bare metal. Those do look like the calipers on my bike which is an 06 except mine aren't brembo.

Unfortunately there were no pads fitted, because that would make my job easier.

I also have a pair of Nissin calipers from a CBR, but mine have equally-sized piston all around. These Brembos have larger trailing pistons. I'm not sure it makes any difference to the pads or not? Perhaps I should look for some 04-06 pads? I'll see if I can find a cheap pair to test.

Jay_J has nailed the soda blasting thing for you. Thanks mate :icon_wink:

Thanks guys

Maybe you can find someone that has an old set of pad they are Gunna throw out and just get them to test fit instead of buying pads.

No problem. I help when I can. Lol
