Brakes Problem

Lately my front brakes seem to be grabbing violently.Hmm....lets see if I can explain this better. Ok so anytime I want to use my front brakes theres like a pulsating in the braking, its not a smooth stop, nor would it stop on a dime if I had to.Upon visual inspection one of the disks on the fronts looks smooth and clean, the other has round circular marks on it,as if its not grabbing completly. My guess is pads are worn, just wanted to check with you guys before I start repalcing parts:icon_shrug:

Thx all :icon_teeth:

Has the bike been dropped? Sounds like a bad rotor what I had a couple of months ago. If your riding quick does it pulse really fast and you can feel it? Does it pulse when you even go to a stop? If so a rotor could be shot

Yeah sounds like a warped rotor to me

Couldn't be a clearer case of warped rotors based on what you've told us.

Warped rotors eh, hmm ok thanks guys. I have dropped it once, nothing serious ( broke a mirrors, scratched paint on side fairing) Just trying to recall, I think its always done this (have only had this bike 3 years) but barely noticeable before, and now over time has gotten progressivly worse, does this still fit the bill for a warped rotor?

Cool, ride safe

joeroberts 08-06-2010 09:14 AM

yes because of the fact that you have only a couple of spots that catch on that rotor it is going to build up more heat in that part and cause it to warp further.
