Brake light does not stay on

Hello, I'm new to the forums. I just picked up a 05 CBR F4I with 11k miles on it.

I have a quick question about the taillight(brake light). They light up when I brake but they don't stay on the low dim light after I let the brake go. Is it not supposed to stay on because the thing is completely off when not pressing on either brake. Thanks for any help.

well your bulbs are dual filament, so either their low power filaments are burnt out or there's no power geting to them for some reason. take them out and test them to 12v directly

check the brake light wire under the seat. the same thing happened to my '03 less than a week ago. if you are good with electrical you can just repair the wire, or fit a new one. or find a friend that knows electrical. good luck with it. but for the record, the light should be on even when youre not braking. how are people supposed to see you at night if there isn't a pair of lights behind you?

Good thing I havent been driving at night! I'll get in there today and fix the wiring. I have a friend helping out. Thanks for help, I'll post pics soon.
