Brake judder and vibration
Hello guys
After replace the front brake pads (original pads) of my F4i, I get a strong vibration and judder when the brake system get hot. I already replace head set but the problem remains. The issue only happens if after a strong or long brake... Thanks for your help |
did you bed the pads in properly?
did you use proper double sintered pads, or... are the rotors past wear limits? its really hard to warp these rotors, but a dial gauge would help to determine that... |
I only get the issue after 500 km with the new pads
I have the original pads from Honda I already try with another complete wheel (inclunding rotors) but the problem remains Thanks for your help |
Are you feeling this In the brake lever or is the steering head jumping. If 1 then when was the last time you've flushed the brake fluid. If 2, check the steering head bearing.
|
No I don't feel it in the brake lever.
I replaced the steering head and the fork oil a week ago. I replaced the brake fluid 2 month ago but is already very dark. Thanks for your help |
I've heard of brake lines expanding but you shouldn't get vibration. I used to bleed my F4i brakes often. I switched to EBC HH sintered pads and I used Valvoline fluid and steel braided lines. Be sure you're getting all the air out of the system.
Come to think of it, I have a complete F4i brake system setup for sale with Speedbleeders installed. I was happy with the functionality but went with the 954 system for looks and functionality. See the classified section. Sorry I couldn't help diagnose. This is strange that it's only when hot. But water in fluid boils and rubber lines do expand but your description sounds extreme like warped rotors. |
I have steel braided lines

Have you checked for any loose components? Can you take a video?
|
All the components have the correct torque.
Video? |
Last weekend I removed the cover of brake fluid, and I see some condensation in the rubber part inside (the rubber part under the cover).
Is this normal or can this make the judder symptoms? Thanks |
