Boneshaking ride!?

Boneshaking ride!?
Guys, How do I make my suspension less of a boneshaker?
I have adjusted the preload to 1 to take as much preload off as possible to try and make the ride more bouncy but the ride is still harsh.
Also my bike is the year (06) that came with no adjustment screws on the top forks and I cant find any adjustment to the rear shock other than the preload. Is there any other way to change the harshness of the ride or will my light weight of 120 lbs condemn me to a life of bumpyness?
Cheers guys.

By 'bone-shaking', I assume you mean constant, every-ripple -in the road? If it's just the occasional "bamm", you might be too soft and bottoming the suspension.
If it's the former, the only thing I can think of on the front, would be change to shorter spacers in the tubes to further lower the pre-load. If that doesn't work, you might consider changing to after-market springs, in the tubes. (but that can be expensive).
Check tire pressure as well, If over-inflated that might contribute to ride quality.
All of the above, precludes the possibility that your front seals are blown and you don't HAVE any dampening. So, check the quality/quanity of fork oil, as well.
