Black Bolts

Hey guys, has any one seen a fairing bolt kit that was black? I have seen the spiked ones and that just aren't my cup of tea.. I have tried Ebay and Google with little to no success.. Anything would be helpful at this point..

Thanks

If I were you, I'd scuff the heads of the bolts with fine sandpaper or steel wool, and stick them through a piece of cardboard, so only the heads are exposed. Paint them with a bake-on ceramic finish (engine block paint). I've done several projects that way on high wear items, and the finish is as durable as you're going to get anywhere. Just a suggestion.

That sounds cheaper then a bolt kit =).. Im liking it so far.. Any other suggestions or links that i can look at?

Go to Advanced Auto Parts, pick up DupliColor engine paint. Resists up to 500 degrees and personal experience has had it up to 520. Just paint the heads, and you're good to go. Takes about 5 minutes to dry, 8-10 for 100%. Cheap and easy.

bikebolts.com sells them in black, or just about any color you want the heads to be. But it is $10 more for color heads.

I would suggest following Incognito's advise though and just paint them with a bake on coating, will look just as good and last just as long. If it doesn't stand up to your liking, you can re-coat them or just go and buy some.

^Looks great. I have a silver and red bike, so to paint them black, would be odd.

Im pretty sure I just saw a set on Ebay for about $50. I know they have the spiked ones, but I saw a whole set in black the other day without spikes

This is going to be my next mod for sure... I think it will look pretty good with my blue and black paint scheme... Thanks for the idea guys.
