Default Bike won't start...NEED HELP

Ok so all weekend i was riding with no problems. Yesterday towards the end of my ride heading home i stopped at a park to use the bathroom. Turned the bike off went did my business then came back to be on my way and the bike didnt start. The lights came on for a second but then out. Clock stays on and if i hit the start button the N light and FI light flicker a bit but thats all, no noises or clicking...Nothing!!! I can a friend to come jump me thinking the battery lost juice, but when we jumped it, it took a minute to fire but as soon as the cables came off it went dead and wouldnt start. Ended up picking a trailer and trailering it home, what apain..The bike only has 8000 miles, and the battery charge is good, i tested it and it was at 13.8..So now im thinking its the stator but i am not totally sure...Anyone have any suggestions or ideas on what it could be and what i should look for?? Hopefully sometime this week i can go look through all the electronic connections, but since it fired when we jumped it i cant imagine it being a connection....thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Maybe the battery is in short, you can test it with another battery...

Sounds like a bad battery or a problem with a good connection to ground. 13.8 volts sounds good, but the volts have to stay pretty close to that under load too. If the volts drop off under load, the battery likely has a problem.

Ok when i got home i checked fuses and different connections around the bike. I guess i'll try a new battery and go from there.

Nice. I like it when it's something simple like that.

Yea me too. I'm hoping it really is just the battery and doesn't crap out on me again next time I go out.
