bike wont start hot, slow/no crank

hello all, my 2002 starts cold fine every time, i let it warm up all the way and shut it off, try to start it again and it will crank very slow or try and quit. anyone had any issue with this before? im thinking a loose connection somewhere, or somehow a bad solenoid? i have a brand new battery in it. it does crank fast enough to start the bike if i jumpstart it.

thanks for any input

I have not had this problem with my bike, but Ive had it with my car with the same symptoms. It ended up being my battery. I replaced it and it fixed my problem. Bring your battery over to Autozone or somthing like it and see if they can test it.

Gotta be the battery - I would start there first.

i had this problem when i first got my bike... exactly the same thing.. i took my plastics off and in the wiring harness i had a spot where the wires were worn thru and it was rubbing against the frame. i fixed it taped it back up and havent had the problem ever again.... by the way took me 3 batteries to figure this out..lol...

Agent orange, that it what I think I narrowed it down to, I found a wire being pinched in my forks. Guy before me had all the wires up there in a mess, not tied up. So far I haven't had the problem happen again
