bike wont freaking run right

well put over 100 miles on the bike today and it ran great, well came home and washed her, didnt know not to use a water hose, so anyways washed it off and towel dryed and put away. well then a coule hours later i went to go for another ride and it idle like crap and i had to keep it idle and when i cruised at regular speed it it like breaks up and runs like ****, but when i get on it it runs fine. and still wont idle worth a darn.

what in the hell could be wrong, i took the airbox apart and its bone dry.

I've used a hose to wash my bike hundreds of times, so... *shrug*

Check your idle screw or check to see if the coils are wet. I always ride my bike in the rain

I hose mine down too... twice. Once to get her wet. Grab a little gallon bucket and put a cap full of armor all in it and sponge her down. Then hose her down again. Hell... My friend use to take his bike to a self serve car wash. That was always funny to watch.

i use a high pressure washer to get a lot of the grime off. doesn't hurt it since i lube my electrical connections once a year.

How old is your bike? You may have some rubber seals over electrical connections that could be cracked and allow water in. I would get an air hose and go over all the connections. I don't know about your bike but on my F3 the ignition control module is under the seat in the back. An area I would not have thought as electrically sensitive. If you do find water in an electrical connection, spray a little alcohol on it then blow it out with air. Of course do this with the power off.
Good luck

bike is a 2001 f4i and today it actually will idle but its still a little rough and i see a very faint hint of what appears to be white smoke and theres a very slight knock at idle but goes away at any throttle
