have a 01 F4i. wondering what the average running temp should be and how high it can get sitting in traffic? My average is 180-195 running and sitting in traffic I've seen it get to 251. Is this normal?[&:]

 

Mine never reaches 250. If mine gets to 220 or so, the fan kicks on.

 

The fan should come on at 222 and go back off at 218-217. 250 is kind of high you may want to get that looked at

 

Yeah I live in Texas and it gets like 105 in the summer and my bike will run @ about 176, and when stopped it does warm up but never goes over 225-227 then the fan comes on.

 

During the day, regular temps around 70 degrees the bike gets to 215 to 230 ish. During the night or cooler weather it doesn't hit 200 usually just below that mark. From what I can tell, the coolant temp changes pretty quickly, when stopping to a complete stop or accelerating from a traffic light. Check the coolant level if the indicator light comes on.
