how do you guys store your bikes for long periods of time like for the winter ? is it safe to put the front and rear on stands and leave it like that for 6-8 months ?

When i store my bike i just take the battery out, park it on 2x6's so the tires don't rot and throw a cover on it. I use sta-bil for gas treatment (i usually try to leave as little gas in it as possible) and thats about it.

P.S. If it gets cold where you are, like it does here, it wouldn't hurt to check the antifreeze before you put it away for the winter months.

I wouldnt think that it would hurt it at all -someone else might want to intervene here-. It shouldnt hurt it to leave it on the tires either, the suspension is made to support the bikes weight 24/7/365. I just make sure to get the rubber off of the concrete.
