i think it is safe to say that the kill switch on the kick stand and the run switch as gotten us all at one point or another

 

Haha, just yesterday IT happened to me again. I was leaving shopping area, got everything ready, turned the key, pulled the clutch, "kill" switch on. Primed. START! and nothing... tried a couple of more times before realizing that I still have my kick stand pointing towards the ground.

But no matter how annoying this switch is, it's providing a great deal of safety. I've seen some harleys running around with kick stand still down. I don't even want to think what would happen if I try to make left turn with while the stand is there...

 

The kickstand down is a turning aid for HDs. How do you think they make it through a left hand turn anways?
