From my searching here our bike has a wax unit thats attached to the idle adjustment screw, its operated by the temperature of the coolant. As the coolant heats up the wax melts and the idle changes.. not exactly sure how it works though.

Hmm it could make sense but at the same time. When its super hot outside lets say 100 degrees plus. The bike will start up and idle at normal rev 1300 rpms. If the wax truly had to warm up it would go up in idle and take a couple of min's and then come down.

The coolant will be warmer if its 100 degrees outside than if it was 40 degrees outside, the wax will be melted / partially melted at summer temps i believe.
