Hey guys.

My CBR keeps dying if i put it into gear, so logically I assumed its the kickstand switch. However, after playing around with the bike, its not the kickstand switch. I cut the wires and spliced them together to bypass the sensor and still nothing. I also dont think it has anything to do with the neutral switch since the bike still starts fine, and the neutral light goes out when i change into a different gear. Any input would be great!

are you holding the clutch? jk. could have something to do with the shut off relay, the one in the rear cowl on top of the exhaust?

 

Sounds like an issue with the kickstand sensor...

 

It does not appear to be the kickstand sensor. I have already tested this and ruled it out.

Any other ideas?

 

I was also told my clutch plates might be sticking... anyone ever had this happen? How can i test this, and how do I go about freeing them without taking the clutch appart?

 

For future reference. If anyone else has a similar issue, my clutch interlock switch.is toast. Jumped it and the bike works like a charm. Going to get a new switch tomorrow.
