best way to fit frame sliders?

My woodcraft sliders came today and im curious as to how you guys have fitted your sliders.
Did you cut your holes just big enough for the sliders or did you cut them a big bigger to allow movement in the event of a impact?

Also did you just leave a cut edge or did you put something around the hole like fuel hose or some sort of seal like you get around windows etc...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

You cut the fairings with i say a millimeter on each side you want them as tight as you can get them. They shouldnt move in an impact

I took the side fairings off. Put the frameslider "bolt" in the hole(without the slider). Slide the fairing back on and pressed the fairing against that bolt and it made an indent in the inside foam, that would be the center. Drilled a small hole where center is. Flipped it around to the front of the side fairing and then drilled a 2" hole with a holesaw. Make sure you put masking tape first where your going to holesaw it out, will keep paint from splintering and tearing up the edges.

My bike came with frame sliders. I think they are Yana Shiki and they are "No-Cut" sliders. Love the no cut stuff. :-)

Somewhere on here is a post about using a laser pointer to get the exact spot marked. (i think i made it, but cant remember)

white knight: Read, and revise your statement: https://cbrforum.com/forum/f4i-main-forum-11/dropped-my-bike-morning-118621/

Laser method: take fairing off, mount laser and point at center of bolt. Put fairing back on, drill hole, mount slider, done.
