bad shifts
 

Seems like my bike does not like to shift from first to second if rpms are somewhat high. Never get a bad shift from first to second if I'm not being very aggressive, but if I'm on the throttle a good bit and rpms are high, then odds of bad shift appear to increase lots. Anyone else experience such things with the F4i? I'd like to better understand and avoid this with its resultant horrible noises and feeling like an idiot. Thanks!

What do you mean by bad shift? Just a crunchy kinda feel? Mine feels a little more notchy too when I'm into the throttle but you are shifting back up through neutral as well so I've never thought it felt smooth. I've also noticed when I'm riding more aggressive my chances of missing a shift due to poor boot position or whatever increases quite a bit. A lot of times I'll have my toe too far under and end up hitting the linkage itself, feels like trying to shift up while you're in 6th gear.

I mean it doesn't go into gear and I get nasty terrible grinding noises when I let out the clutch. Also won't go back into 1st or into 2nd immediately either but seems to take a moment along with lower rpms for me to shift again. Have only seen this sometimes when shifting from 1st to 2nd with high rpms.

Shift action can need a more intense push when rpm's go up. I'll get a mis-shift every once in a while when I'm wearing my shoes. It has yet to happen ever wearing hard toe riding boots though. Otherwise something like a shift fork is worn out in your trans.
