Man, you guys get good mileage....I just checked and it was 31. Maybe I'm not riding it as easy as I thought I was.

There are way too many variables: gasoline octane, fuel quality, machine condition, altitute, rider weight, rider technique, shifting points, gearing or engine modifications, etc., etc.

It should be a little higher than 31mph. Where are you shifting? If I'm riding aggressively, I know that my mpg is going to fall like a rock.

I prolly shift around 5-6K for a bigger road...a little lower for smaller roads, and higher for freeway/feeder roads. Its pretty new to me, so I still like to hit it hard once in a while....10K shifts.

I'm down low in elevation, so I assume that more air would cause the computer to pump more fuel.

Default How do you reset the mpg meter?

I can locate that on my cars dash, but on the cbr f4i how do you reset the tach or gauge to start at 0?
I just filled up my tank to full, and thought i tried to measure my mpg, or miles per tank

Its kinda of odd that you guys actually monitor the mpg on the F4is. Its a sports bike, is fuel efficiency really important to you? Shouldnt you care more about performance? Anything in a sports class can not have both efficiency and performance and if you think otherwise than the salesman did his job.

When gas spikes again and it's $4 a gallon (you know it eventually will), then yes it's important when my truck gets 10mpg.

Do you race to work every day? When I was commuting on the F4i I rarely got above 10K.

You really couldn't be more wrong. How do you make more power? You make the engine more efficient. Since we are now working with electronic fuel injection you can set your lower RPMs to be very efficient while still maximizing power where you need it for racing. With mods like a Power Commander you can actually run several different maps on the bike. You can have one for daily commute and one for racing.

To the Original Poster, if you want a street bike, you will be much more satisfied with the F4i. It dosent give up much to the 600rr, and is WAY more comfortable.
