Aurora F4i Build

Day 2:
I pulled all the decals off the fairing and that was way worse than I thought it would be and I use to work at a sign shop doing similar stuff. Did a light coat of sanding and repaired two cracks with some epoxy weld.
Grinding a little channel.
The other one and more of a structural issue but I think I got it pretty good. This is the second time I have repaired it, this is more of a appearance repair this time.

Day 3:
This was the labor intensive day. Did all the body work and sanded...and sanded. It was a ton of work, way more than I thought. I would say it is even smoother than factory. Tomorrow hopefully some painting.
Here is the finished product, all sanded and wet-sanded.

Day 4:
Painted today and I love painting. It is so much better than sanding. I have been painting for about 12 years and body work for about 1 week, so lets say my paint job is better than the body work, but still nice. I went with satin black over flat black than I have used in the past and I have to say I pleased with the slight amount of shine.
Also today, I was able to get the HID installed and that went smooth thanks to the nice write ups on the site. I found there was extra an extra grommet per each side.
All the parts hanging up waiting for coat number 2.
All painted and dry to the touch, to floor for the next day.

Day...
Sorry for the lack of pics the past couple days. I did finish up the bike.
The carbon fiber tank was much harder than I thought it would be. The tough part about it was getting the pattern of the fibers to line up. I ended up painting the tank gloss black first and then laid the carbon fiber. I put 3 coats of resin and 3-4 coats of clear coat after some sanding.
The gloss black stripes stand out so much more than it looks in the pics. I will try to get some better quality images tomorrow. I also went with a reflective red HONDA and in the sun it looks awesome, very bright.
Overall I am happy with the final product. I will say next time purchasing new fairings would be the way to go, its a ton of work.
